What actually happened to him? Why don't we hear from him anymore? It is about time to have a serious word with God. Different religious rituals, unusual encounters and music blend into a theatrical roller-coaster ride. Questions swirl through the empty room. Why does one have to kneel at Mass? With which hand do you accept the host? And don't you have to take your shoes off? Everyone is confused, especially because it turns out, that someone else is also in the abandoned church...
In the Dutch artist Lieke Bender's performance, room is made for the questions that really matter. What can we actually still believe in and what good does it do us? “Hello ... God?!” is about the search for purpose, for what is and what is not and for connections between people and religions. A philosophical theatre performance about God and other topics.
For her young theatre production “niet wiet, wel nel”, Hoge Fronten was awarded the “Zilveren Krekel” (Silver Cricket Award), the Youth Theatre Award 2013 by the Professional Association of Theatres in the Netherlands. Lieke Bender is one of the most outstanding stage directors in the Netherlands. The topic of religion is often found in her works.
