Cultural Political Podium

Theatre for 9- to 13-year-olds – are we making the right things for those who we’re aiming to make things for?

What are the issues that affect 9- to 13-year-olds? Does theatre actually tackle these issues and do kids see themselves reflected in productions? How can children’s and youth theatre contribute, so that the 9- to 13-year-old age group becomes more socially relevant and allows them to become more involved?

  • Podium participants:
Ute Schäfer, Minister for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport for North-Rhineland-Westphalia, Dr. Andrea Hanke, Deputy Secretary for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport for the city of Münster, Dr. Christian Esch, Director of NRW KULTURsekretariat (Wuppertal), Silvia Andringa, Artistic Director of the HALBSTARK theatre festival
  • The discussion will be recorded by WDR 3 and broadcast at a later date as part of the Cultural Policy Forum. It will be chaired by Stefan Keim.
